Volunteers |
Nirvana School is visited by a number of volunteers each year.
The time spent there is very exciting and incredibly rewarding. Over the years many volunteers have visited the school and helped out from just a couple of days to many months.
The types of activities which a volunteer can get involved in depend on the interests and desires of the volunteer. There is no example of a typical visit to Nirvana School, as each visit is unique.
It really depends on how you would like to help and what you can do. But what is consistent, is that your time is greatly appreciated, and your efforts create clear, direct, and visible improvements. Your presence is all that is needed.
Vinu massi is most grateful for all volunteers who visit the school.
Some examples of activities which volunteers have been involved in are:
- Helping to teach English as a second language to the children.
- Observing teaching methods, and suggesting improvements to increase the sophistication of teaching techniques.
- Improving the management systems and administration processes within the school.
- Creating teaching aids for the teachers.
What volunteers have said about their experiences:
“It is amazing how much difference you can make to the children’s lives – a little bit of effort really does go a long way there. My time at Nirvana School was by far, the most challenging yet most rewarding experience of my life.
But I also had a lot of fun! I highly recommend it!”
A number of volunteers have visited Nirvana school over the years and contributed in many different ways. They have all had a profound and inspiring time at the school, and you can read more about their experiences here:-
Past volunteers have taught the children, created the library, played games and even painted the school playground.

Other volunteers, such as Umesh, have played a leading role, teaching at the school for many months and setting up the school's computers.
All volunteers visit Nirvana school at their own expense and they take away with them life-changing experiences and life long memories.
One of the joys of visiting Nirvana school is being able to share gifts with the Nirvana children:-
No matter what you do as a volunteer at Nirvana school, you are sure to leave a mark on the Nirvana children, whom you will remember for the rest of your life.
